Irrational

I feel very irrational this morning.

Rational means, “Based on, or in accordance with reason or logic.”  Reason means, “a cause, explanation, or justification for an action or event.”

There are so many things in the spiritual realm that defy our reason.  How do you explain, except by the power of God’s spirit (which alone is mind-boggling), the virgin birth?  A man calming a turbulent storm?  The blinded eyes opened, the lame walking, demoniacs sitting in their right minds, fully clothed?  A dead man walking.    Sinners made whole again.

How do you explain these things?  Or are they absorbed by faith?  We have faith in things we have never seen.  Heaven.  Miracles hoped for.  Abraham didn’t know where he was going—but he hoped for it, but because he believed on God.  What man leaves his people and goes out to somewhere he’s never been, never seen?  That’s faith.

There are things that I hope for yet, that I have not seen.  Reason tells me not to.  Logic cannot help me.  But faith in God who is the maker of all things, belief that He will reward those who diligently seek Him tells me to.
